Resources you can use Now! FOR ADVENT--Beginning the Church's liturgical year, Advent is the season leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. Advent devotions remind us of the meaning of the season http://www.usccb.org/advent /

Vatican Conference Focuses on the Deaf Community--November 19-21 a conference was held at the Vatican focusing on the ”Life of the Deaf Person in the Church.”  This was the first time in the history of the Catholic Church that a conference focused on Deaf people and their life in the church.  Deaf people from various countries presented on their experiences in the Catholic Church and how ministry with Deaf persons and their families can be improved.  Please see the article from the Catholic News Service for further information http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0905103.htm
