A Message to Parents - from Dr. Ronald J. Valenti, Superintendent of Catholic Schools
Dear Parents/Guardian
May the Peace of Christ be with you!
In the Division of Catholic Schools’ strategic plan, As One Body… We Celebrate…We Challenge… the mission statement clearly states that we are impelled by our commitment to advocate for children and youth. It is a statement filled with the desire to instill in our students the applications of Gospel values blended with the skills that make them life long learners.
Integral to this proclamation is the belief that parents, as the primary educators, partner with the school in the development of the child. That partnership is predicated on trust and the common bond of doing all that is possible for the good of the child. This partnership manifests itself in many ways but is best demonstrated by parental participation in school activities and staying connected with teachers and administrators, which strengthens the lines of communication.
Our Catholic schools have a long-standing tradition for quality and excellence. It is rooted in the dedication of both its teachers and parents. However, we recognize that today’s demands are multifaceted and it requires more communication and a better understanding of the challenges that confront us to meet the needs of our children.
Our Catholic schools stand ready to continue to work with parents in assuring that their expectations for their children are being met. This requires a climate where authentic dialog and active participation builds the school community. As a parent/guardian we invite you to be engaged with your school. Together we can work as one body so that we can celebrate the gift of Catholic education and collectively meet the challenges.
Peace and all good things!
